Jared Followill confirmed this morning that the band’s sixth studio album will be released in September 2013. The most surprising news, as Jared told NME, is that it’s apparently going to sound like a mix of the first and third records.
“I thought we were going to make a really mature album but I’m amazed how youthful it sounds. It’s like a mix of ‘Youth & Young Manhood’ and ‘Because Of The Times’.”
The band will play a number of festival dates this summer, and I’ll try to update this page with more frequency.

Jared Followill is engaged. He asked then-girlfriend Martha Patterson to marry him on April 11 at his home in Nashville. Jared used proposed with a four-carat cushion-cut diamond he designed himself, according to JustJared.com.
“Yes, it’s true!” Jared’s rep tells the tabloid. “Jared proposed to Martha on April 11 at his home in Nashville and we’re all excited for the newly engaged couple.”
